Crystal Lake has a lot of beautiful attractions to check out. Moreover, you will be able to enjoy all of them when you’re driving a rented car. You don’t have to worry about waiting for bus rides or spending money on a taxi. If you have a rented driver you don’t even have to worry about getting lost.
Where You Can Go
There are several nature parks that are scattered all over Crystal Lake. To give you an idea where you can spend your time and have fun with your rented car, check out the list below:
1. Main Beach. Main Beach is located in Lake Shore Drive. It is open from 9 in the morning until dusk. However, on school days the beach will be open to the public from 3 pm until about 5 in the afternoon. There are fees that you must pay, especially when you’re not a resident of Crystal Lake, but these fees are very affordable. For example, for non-residents you will only be paying $10 if you’re an adult and children who are under three years old are free. You can have a day of picnicking with your families and friends at Main Beach, whilst everyone gets to enjoy the beautiful and sandy beach.
2. Butterfly House. The Butterfly House is found in the Nature Center. There are really no flat fees that you have to pay, though everyone is encouraged to donate at least a dollar for the maintenance of the facility. Inside you can see different kinds of live butterflies that are flying inside the greenhouse. There are also guided tours, where guides will provide you with educational information on the butterflies that you can see in the area. Since the house discovers new breeds of butterflies several times a year you are then encouraged to go back, in order to check them out.
3. Fetzner Park. This is a 22-acre lot that is located between Shelton Lane and Alexandra Boulevard. This is the perfect venue for adventurous people because of the presence of bike paths and other trails. You can simply leave your rented car in their parking area and go off and explore. If biking is not your thing, you may want to play basketball or soccer in any of their fields.
4. Woodland Estates Park. This is just one of the many neighborhood parks that you can go to when you’re in Crystal Lake. It’s located in between Tile Line and Midlane roads. It’s smaller than Fetzner Park but you can enjoy similar facilities, including the gazebo and the wetland area.
5. Lippold Park. The Lippold Park has a lot to offer to people from all walks of life. There are a number of hiking trails, baseball fields, a golf course and concession stands. You can also take delight in its wetlands and ponds.
These places will become much nearer to you when you decide to rent a car once you’re in Crystal Lake. So why don’t you book yourself one now?
